Sharing My Faith

Over the last couple of months, I have been growing more confident in sharing my faith with others. Back in September, I was blessed to not only have attended the convention for the Archdiocese of Atlanta Council of Catholic but also presented a workshop to some of the attendees about the importance of self care. It was quite the nerve-wracking experience but I am so glad I did it because I met some wonderful women and even made a new writer friend, Lauretta Hannon.

As I reflect on these wonderful opportunities I’ve had and am hopeful to share more in public forums, I realize it doesn’t always have to be in these formal ways. I can share my faith in little ways, just like St. Thérèse of Lisieux. I can share it through my actions and through the love I show others. As Matthew 5:14 - 16 tells us,

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house. Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.

I recently had someone comment to another that she is not as devout as I am and it honestly surprised me because while I feel like I am devout, I didn’t realize how evident it has become in my life. I didn’t realize the impact just sharing my faith in little ways is beginning to shine. I hope and pray going into this new year that I can not only grow brighter but also that through my light, I am able to glorify Him.

Happy New Year and God bless, everyone!
